Good causes offered a helping hand by Fidelity
Further to the official launch of Fidelity’s charity pledge in April this year I thought now would be good time to update you on this year’s charity work undertaken in response.
Home is always where the heart is and so it is no surprise that since my eldest son started school in Clophill this September we have been working with Clophill St Mary’s Lower School to provide fundraising support. Our School Christmas Card scheme; where the children design their own Christmas card design and we craft them into printed packs of 12 A6 cards; was very successful and raised £181.
Following a Heritage Week event for Year 4 that involved the class researching the ‘History on our High Street’ and producing a booklet on the subject, I redesigned the content into a 36page full-colour book which is now on sale for £5.00 with the profit going to the school. The production of the ‘History on our High Street’ book also sits nicely with the recent publication of Clophill’s ‘Heritage Trail Guide’ a 24 page folded DL which charts some of Clophill historical points, that we designed and printed for the Clophill Parish Action Group and Parish Council.
Earlier this year we produced the program for Ampthill Proms Night again and it was a very successful evening. Also this year the arena was used on the Friday night for ‘AmpRocks’ which although it wasn’t greatly attended was enjoyed by all and will hopefully set the course for a more successful attendance in 2011. We will be supporting both events again in 2011.
Post Ampthill Festival (if there is such a time, when does it ever end?) we have worked with the Festival organisers and Ampthill TV to produce DVD and Blu-ray disks of ‘The Proms and Festival Parade’ and ‘The Bands’ which includes ‘AmpRocks’ night supporting bands (not Pauline Black of The Selector though! (Shame!)) and the fantastic line up of bands that played us bar huggers through the Gala Day on Sunday. If you would like to buy a DVD copy or view any of the events online see Ampthill TV for a comprehensive gallery of Ampthill Events caught on video.
In October again we supported the ‘3rd Wartime Dance’ at Parkside Hall for the organiser by providing our design and print services to create the evening program advertising flyers and posters. The event sets a war time ambiance with music from the era sung by Kas, ‘The Forces Sweetheart’ and raises money for local charities.
We will continue to offer our support to local groups and charities in 2011 and look forward to being set some more interesting projects.
